In this series, Living Water, I explore our relationship with water. We are all drawn to views of water, whether the ocean or a waterfall. Water creates and shapes our world, from tiny droplets to large currents, from rocks to ravines. Thus, some of my photographs explore those views, to examine how water and light and reflections create landscape and give us a sense of beauty.
But beyond the landscape, water is essential for life. It sustains us directly, and also provides habitat to everything from bacterial films to birds. I love capturing those interactions. Some of my photographs explore how we humans interact with water symbolically, spiritually, or recreationally. How do we confine it, use it, and give it meaning?
